Two years ago, ANTIDOTE worked with Environmental Working Group (EWG) scientists to validate that ANTIDOTE shampoos and conditioners were among the healthiest hair care out there. At that time, every ANTIDOTE shampoo and conditioner earned a “Green Rating” by the Environmental Working Group. New research is always coming out and EWG is continuing to raise the bar.
This year, we engaged with EWG again to review our formulas and are proud to share that ANTIDOTE was green rated, again!
Why should a green rating matter to you?
If you are like the average person, you use an average of 9 personal care products every day – exposing you to 170 chemicals. Since over 60% of what you put on your skin gets absorbed into your blood, all of that exposure can add up. So as much as possible, selecting "green" products means that you are increasing your exposure to healthy ingredients.
How does the rating process work?
EWG staff scientists compared the ingredients used in ANTIDOTE against nearly 60 toxicity and regulatory databases. They’ve done the same for over 75,000 products across 2,000 brands so that you can compare – creating the most comprehensive database in the industry.

Not a surprise.
It didn’t surprise us because, given EWG's extensive expertise, we consult them throughout the product development process and whenever we make improvements. This way we can design our products around better ingredients to deliver healthy scalp and follicles, and strong and shiny hair from the start. As more studies come out, we continually improve our formulas, so keep coming back for the latest.
